about us

The Dry Eye Company is a privately owned company founded and run by Rebecca Petris, a patient advocate with chronic dry eye. I started it in October 2004 in Apollo Beach, Florida and now operate from Poulsbo, Washington.

I look for ways to improve quality of life for people with chronic dry eye disease. Click here for more about my vision and mission.

Here are some highlights:

  • Patient education, through a large library of patient-friendly articles on The Dry Eye Zone
  • Support networks for dry eye patients, via our discussion forums at Dry Eye Talk
  • Consumer products of many types, via The Dry Eye Shop where we are constantly adding to our collection. This shop is an education in itself - the result of years of feedback from dry eye patients about all the different kinds of things that have helped them, ranging from protective eyewear to chilled eye soothers to lidscrubs to sleep masks to, of course, our beloved Dr. Holly's Drops (Dwelle, Dakrina and NutraTear) which were our very first adopted products.
  • New product development: We foster ideas for new products, work in consultation with companies who are interested in developing innovative new products, and sometimes develop our own
  • Directories to help patients find dry eye doctors, through our Dry Eye Yellow Pages
  • Newsletter with industry and research updates and new product information
  • Dry eye drug updates, via our Clinical Trial Roster where we track new drugs from early development to final clinical trials and regulatory approval
  • Dry eye news, via our blog The Dry Eye Digest

If you can think of something else we should do, that would help people who suffer from dry eye, let us know and we will consider it.
